Some games Ive been playing

Links Awakening (Gameboy)

i´ve been playing a bunch of the zelda games recently. After finishing A Link to the past I was really excited to start Links awakening as I new it was a passion project that was much light hearted and story-driven. I was surprised to find loads of nintendo references and characters displayed in such a dreamlike way. Im not the greatest fan of the constant item switching and particularly i dont really care for the fact that JUMPING can only happen when you equip an item.

Cocoon

Im a big of Jeppe Carlsen and his wacky creations. Starting with Limbo, going though Inside and now Cocoon. Cocoon though is its own breed of game. In the same vein as the other two games it is a narractive, non-verbal game so that the story is told through visual elements. The game has some of the most amazing, mind-bending puzzles. It is a game in which you use alternate worlds inside orbs which have specific abilities in order to progress through the world. The whole world is so organic and gooey i just love it. And the puzzles get progressively more complex so that you feel like a genious when it clicks.

Bad North

This is a fun rogue lite, strategy game created by indie studio Plausible Concept In this game you have must defend islands from swarms of enemies. The game is pretty fun although it can be stupidly easy at times and very hard at other times. One of my favourite features are the procedurally generated islands which make it so every run in this game is different. Well of course its procedural as it was developed partly by the creator of Townscapper, Oskar Stålbergs , the chill procedural building game.

Inside

Boy have I been missing out on this game. Its incredibly gripping and moody. The art is beautiful and these procedural animations are top notch. I finished in one sitting which isnt too hard since the game is about 4 hours long. i can tell you the ending was one of the best ive played recently.
